Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy describes the Tracking Tools used on this website (the Website) and the purposes for which they are used. A Tracking Tool means any technology — for example cookies, identifiers, browser local storage entries (localStorage), web beacons, embedded scripts, e-tags, fingerprinting — that makes it possible to collect or store information on the User's device.

The Website is purely informational and uses no profiling, marketing or analytics cookies. The only Tracking Tools used are either technical (necessary) or third-party tools loaded solely following an explicit action by the User.

Technical tools (necessary)

These are essential for the Website to function or to deliver the service requested by the User. Under applicable law (Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003), using them does not require the User's prior consent.

Cookie notice preference (first party)

A browser local storage entry named merida.cookie-notice.dismissed.v1 records the User's choice to close the cookie notice, so that it is not shown again on subsequent visits. No personal information is collected and the value is never transmitted to any external server.

• Duration: persistent, until manually cleared from the browser.

Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc. — United States)

The Website is delivered through the network of Cloudflare, Inc., the hosting and CDN provider. Cloudflare filters the traffic between the Website and the User's browser in order to ensure security, mitigate abusive traffic and deliver the service correctly, and for that purpose may set the following strictly necessary technical cookies:

• _cfuvid — purpose: identifying the visitor's session in support of Cloudflare's security and performance services; duration: session (renewed on each request).
• cf_clearance — purpose: confirming that anti-bot checks have been passed; duration: 30 minutes.

• Data processed: Tracking Tools, IP address, usage data.
• Place of processing: United States — transfer outside the EU based on the Standard Contractual Clauses.

Third-party tools loaded on consent

The services below are activated only after an explicit action by the User. Until that point no cookie is set and no data is transferred to the providers concerned.

Google Maps Widget (Google Ireland Limited)

In the contact section the map is initially replaced by a static image hosted on the Website. Only when the “Load map” button is clicked is the interactive map requested from Google's servers, at which point personal data (for example IP address and browsing data) may be transferred to Google. By clicking, the User gives explicit consent to loading the service for that session.

• Data processed: usage data, IP address, Tracking Tools.
• Place of processing: Ireland — any transfer outside the EU is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses.

What the Website does not use

For the further protection of Users, we note that the Website:

• uses no profiling, marketing or advertising cookies;
• uses no analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar);
• embeds no social network tracking pixels;
• hosts its typefaces locally (Inter and Cormorant Garamond), avoiding any connection to Google Fonts or other third-party CDNs to load fonts.

Managing your preferences

Consent to loading Google Maps is given solely by clicking the “Load map” button in the contact section; without that action, no data is transferred to Google. To withdraw consent it is enough to reload the page without clicking the button again.

Users may also, at any time, manage or delete Tracking Tools through their browser settings. Useful instructions are available on the support pages of the main browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge.

Consequences of refusal

Refusing technical Tracking Tools would stop the Website working correctly. Refusing to load Google Maps means only that the interactive map cannot be viewed on the Website itself; all other content remains fully accessible, and the address can always be reached through the “Open in Google Maps” link.
